Diesel & Heavy Equipment Shop Technician

LeStage CVC is seeking a skilled Diesel & Heavy Equipment Shop Technician to perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs in our shop environment. We are looking for a technician who takes pride in accurate diagnostics, quality workmanship, complete documentation, and maintaining a safe and professional work area. Responsibilities • Diagnose and repair diesel engines, electrical systems, starting and charging systems, brakes, suspension, steering, cooling systems, and related mechanical systems. • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and scheduled services on commercial vehicles and equipment. • Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical problems using scan tools, digital multimeters, service information, and established diagnostic procedures. • Complete assigned repair work efficiently while maintaining quality and safety standards. • Accurately document inspections, diagnostic findings, labor performed, parts used, and completed repairs. • Identify additional safety, maintenance, and repair needs and report findings before performing additional work. • Remove, replace, adjust, and repair vehicle and equipment components. • Coordinate with service personnel and other technicians regarding repair status, parts requirements, and additional findings. • Maintain tools, shop equipment, and assigned work areas in clean and safe condition. • Follow company procedures for safety, documentation, quality control, and vehicle handling. Qualifications • Professional diesel, commercial-truck, fleet, heavy-equipment, or related mechanical experience preferred. • Strong mechanical aptitude and diagnostic ability. • Working knowledge of vehicle electrical and electronic systems. • Ability to read wiring diagrams and use scan tools, digital multimeters, and other diagnostic equipment. • Experience with brakes, suspension, steering, preventive maintenance, and general mechanical repair. • Ability to safely operate vehicles and equipment appropriate to the position. • Welding, fabrication, hydraulic, air-brake, and diesel aftertreatment experience is a plus. • Industry certifications are a plus.
